Jucia Chong's Musing - Contouring & Highlighting

Contouring – The Brushes You Need Contouring, when done correctly, doesn’t only enhance our best features and improve any imperfections, it also slims our face and creates definition and illumination to create a sleek, sculpted look.

For contouring the crease of your eyelid, choose a medium sized eyeshadow brush with a rounded tip. It should be small enough to fit into your crease, with short, right bristles for control. For a slim nose, use a small to medium sized eyeshadow brush. One that’s angled or tapered will give you the most precise application, while still allowing you to blend well for a natural-looking finish. For cheekbones, choose an angled brush with softly rounded edges. The shape works for blending out color and blurring harsh lines. To contour your jawline, look for a flat brush. The flat edges fit the linear contours of your face and allow for precise application. No contour application is complete without a light dusting of highlight. Use a fan brush to sweep shimmery highlight powder or cream direcly on top of your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose. The brush’s lightly packed bristles ensure you won’t overdo it. xoxo, Jucia Chong
